my background. I've been advising, consulting, and coaching startups and large enterprise organizations through transformational change for the past 15+ years. Extra care and attention have been given to leadership development, organizational design, work culture, and operations innovation. Since I've worked across industries, and at all levels of scale, the hope is that everyone will be able to find something that resonates.🤞🏻
years of stuff to share. I've seen a lot, experimented a ton, failed and succeeded plenty, and so I've got some stuff to share. The format is still unclear, and my method is still sorting itself out, but I'm operating on a 'ship it' mentality. I'm just kicking this off, so I reserve the right to change directions as I go.🤪
culture follows structure. I first heard this from Craig Larman, my mentor and friend, as his fifth law of organizational behavior. I've dug in much deeper since then and after years of working in the field this concept is now foundational to how I approach transformations. Many of the stories I plan to share will focus on unraveling the connection between structures and behaviors and creating new mental models for understanding the systems that we all live and work in. I'll tell you, beware, because once you've begun to see these often invisible connections, it is near impossible to unsee them. Not as dramatic as a 'red pill' or 'blue pill' moment, but close.🤔
just want to get started. I think that is enough intro text for now. I suggest we get to know each other over the coming posts and recordings, and not worry too much about being besties upfront. My goal for this first note was to say hi, give a wee bit of a teaser, and ship the dang thing. ✅ 🎉
